Obituary of Marion Cappellano
Marion Cappellano
February 14, 1923 - April 16, 2007
Marion (Jazinski) Cappellano, wife of the late Victor Cappellano, passed away peacefully at Glen Hill Harborside Healthcare on Monday, April 16th following a series of long-term illnesses. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 14, 1923, daughter of the late George and Pauline (Prowasnik) Jazinski.
A lifelong Danbury resident, Marion attended Danbury Schools. Prior to moving to Harborside Healthcare, she lived in the home that she and her husband built on High Street Extension for fifty years.
In her younger, healthier days, she had quite the "green thumb." Marion planted and tended charming flower beds abundant with pink Poppies, purple Irises, and other assorted blossoms around the property. Her culinary skill was remarkable as well, especially baking. Among Marion's specialties was cheesecake; and her family regularly enjoyed every imaginable variation of this confection.
What Marion will most be remembered and admired for was her loving conviction to care for her severely disabled daughter, Kathleen, known as "Kelly." Kelly is afflicted with Cerebral Palsy, is mentally challenged, cannot speak or walk.
Despite years of struggling with her own serious medical conditions, Marion unselfishly and passionately devoted her life to Kelly's needs at home, day after day for forty years. She never "took a break," and adamantly refused any help, never complaining about this heartbreaking, exhausting and unending commitment.
Her daughters, Linda and Kelly will miss their mother but are grateful that she is finally at rest. Funeral Information
