Obituary of Anthony R. Cascio

Anthony R. Cascio February 20, 1925 - April 09, 2007 Anthony R. Cascio, 82, of King Street, Danbury, husband of the late Martha C. (Spinelli) Cascio, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, April 9th. He was born in New York, New York on February 20, 1925, son of the late Benjamin and Rose (Grillo) Cascio. Mr. Cascio was a sewing machine mechanic who operated the family business in the Garment District of New York City for more than thirty years. He was a very active man who swam three times a week at the YMCA in Danbury. He was an avid bowler and started a card playing group at the Danbury Senior Center. A devout Catholic, Mr. Cascio was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Danbury. He will be sadly missed by his son, Bruce Cascio and his wife, Melinda of South Salem, NY; his three daughters, Roseann Press and her husband, David, with whom he made his home in Danbury, Lorraine Wright and her husband, David of White Plains, NY, and Nancy Cascio of Elmsford, NY; his eight grandchildren, Andy, Patrick, Martha, Lily, Madeline, Jennifer, Sean and Amethyst. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jean Bucolo; his granddaughter, Tara Wright; and his brother, Thomas Cascio. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 13th at 11:00 am at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Interment in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, April 12th between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00pm.
