Philomena (Bielizna) Castronovo
January 24, 1912 - December 06, 2003
Philomena (Bielizna) Castronovo, 91, wife of the late Dr. Joseph "Jay" Castronovo, MD., died on Saturday, December 6th at Harborside Glen Hill. She was born on January 24, 1912 in Fall River, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Wojick) Bielizna.
Mrs. Castronovo was Dean of Women at Bryant College for twelve years. She attended St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Owen and her husband William of Homasassa, Florida; grandchildren, David and Sally Owen; and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Jane B. Meeker, formerly of Ridgefield, and Lillian B. Blaskiewicz of Newington; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Judge Julius J. Bielizna and George Bielizna. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Church in Danbury on Wednesday, December 10th at 10:00am. Interment Services will follow in the Mausoleum at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, is in charge of arrangements. Donations Information
