Obituary of Joan Noel Chalmers

Joan Noel Chalmers December 17, 1932 - March 19, 2009 Joan Noel (Flaherty) Chalmers, age 76, daughter of the late Timothy Joseph and Elizabeth (Coughlan) Flaherty, died March 19, 2009 at the Danbury Hospital. She was born on December 17, 1932, in Astoria, Queens. Joan was a 1954 graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she received her BA in English. She worked as an Editor for the Southington Observer, and also at Pratt & Whitney. Joan will be sadly missed by her daughters; Maureen Chalmers and her husband Christian Tobler, of Oxford; and Patricia Chalmers and her husband Thomas Sullivan, of Brookfield. She will also be missed by her family pets; Sable the cat, and dogs, Mac O'Malley-Sullivan and Sampson Sullivan. Funeral Information A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 28, 2009, at 10:00am, at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys R.C. Church. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
