Mary Charecky
February 25, 1917 - November 19, 2007
Mary Charecky, formerly of Wappingers Falls, died peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, November 19th in Bethel, CT, at the age of 93. She was born in the Bronx, on February 25, 1914, daughter of the late Alexander and Lillie Charecky.
A long-term resident of the Bronx, Mary worked for forty-five years as credit manager for a publishing house in midtown Manhattan. She traveled considerably in her younger years - to the western United States and the United Kingdom. She retired in 1979, and relocated to Wappingers Falls, NY where she was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church.
She was an avid gardener and reveled in her vegetable and flower gardens alike. She was loved by her family, neighbors and fellow parishioners.
In 2005, Mary moved to an assisted living apartment in Bethel, CT where she lived most
comfortably until early November.
She will be sadly missed by her nephew, Michael Charecky, Sr. and his wife, Joanna; several grandnieces and nephews; as well as great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Anna Rollmann and her brother, Alexander Charecky, Jr. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21st at 10:00am at Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, 12590. Burial will follow in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, CT on Tuesday, November 20th between the hours of 4:00 - 8:00pm. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice or to Zion Episcopal Church.
