Anthony J. Cordio Sr.

Anthony J. Cordio, Sr., age 78, of Belmont Circle, Danbury, husband of Mary (Krakovich) Cordio, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, September 3rd. He was born in Danbury on May 18, 1931, son of the late Joseph and Esther (Bishop) Cordio.
Mr. Cordio was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Navy.
He worked as a general contractor, owing and operating AJ Cordio Custom Builders and later An-Cor Builders. During his retirement, he continued to own and manage a commercial rental property in Danbury.
An avid auto racer, Anthony was a proud supporter of Danbury Race Arena. Over the years, he sponsored countless cars and drivers, especially his favorite, Car 56. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and beloved dog, Toby.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Anthony Cordio, Jr of Danbury, and Ronald Cordio and his companion, Elizabeth Perrotti of Danbury; his daughter, Linda Lamparelli of Danbury; his two grandsons, Christopher and Corey Lamparelli. He is also survived by his two brothers, Arthur Cordio of New Fairfield, and Herbert Bonner and his wife, Jeanne of Danbury; his brother-in-law, Norman Schoen of MO; his former son-in-law, Det. Joseph Lamparelli, of the Brookfield Police Department; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Cordio and Everett Bonner; and his sister, Evelyn Schoen. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, September 8th at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 7th between 4:00 and 8:00pm, and also on Tuesday between 9:30 and 10:30am. Donations Information
