Metcho "Hard Rock" Corna
September 09, 1918 - April 11, 2005
Metcho "Hard Rock" Corna, 86, of Pinellas Park, Fla, formerly of Danbury, died at North Side Hospital in Pinellas Park, Fla., on Monday, April 11th. He was the devoted husband of Alene J. (Baker) Corna.
Mr. Corna was born in New Milford on September 9, 1918, son of the late Anthony and Katherine (Marshall) Corna. He worked as a blaster for E. Paul Kovacs for 29 years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478, in Hamden.
In addition to his wife, Alene, he is survived by his children, Sharon Corna of Bethel, Fred Corna and his wife, Arlene of New Fairfield, Metcho R. Corna and his wife, Diane of Pinellas Park, Fl., Mary Sheldon of St. Petersburg, Fl, David Corna of Bethel, and Mark Corna and his wife, Rebecca of Brookfield. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Schlemmer. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Saturday, April 16th at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Colburn Cemetery, Sherman.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15th between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home.
