Leonard J. "Lenny" Cossuto, of Junction Road, Brookfield, devoted husband of Joyce (Pooley) Cossuto, died on Wednesday, October 8th at The Kent, at the age of 83. He was born in Norwalk on February 17, 1920, son of the late Joseph and Restituta (Mirigliola) Cossuto.
Lenny was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in England, France and Belgium. He was a recipient of the European African Mid-Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He owned and operated Joseph, Cossuto and Son, a topsoil supplier, for forty years. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury.
Lenny was a dedicated husband and father who cherished time spent with his wife and children. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; three loving sons, Allen and his wife, Joan of New Milford, Philip and his wife, Cindy, of Bridgewater, Joseph and his wife, Diane, also of Bridgewater; and daughter, Catherine Zucca and her husband Richard, of Bridgewater. He will also be missed by six grandchildren, Randal, Liana, Vincent, Jared, Jennifer and Alison; a sister, Julia Bitar of Maine, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11th, 11:30 am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Cremation and Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, October 9th, between the hours of 5 and 8 pm, and on Friday, October 10th between the hours of 6 and 9 pm.
