Gerard Darcy Doyle, age 66, of New Milford died in Danbury on Sunday, July 17, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Laurie (McGill) Doyle.
Mr. Doyle was born in Washington, DC,and raised in New Jersey the only child of the late Alphonse and Marie (Carroll) Doyle. He earned a B.A. in Marketing from St. Peter's College. He was a Transportation Executive for several companies including Atlantic Gulf, SeaLand, and until his retirement 8 years ago, Burlington Northern. Gerry enjoyed the sailing and golfing. Most of all he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife of 7 1/2 years, he is survived by three daughters: Christine Gemici and her husband Alex of New Providence, NJ, Kerry Doyle and her husband Patrick Clark of Keene, NH, Darcey Gohring and her husband Oliver of Summit, NJ; a stepdaughter: Jennifer Chislett and her husband Robert of Concord, CA; six grandchildren; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Capwell, and brother-in-law Edward Knight McGill IV, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 11:00 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Brookfield. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. , Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
The family extends a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Oncology floor at Danbury Hospital for the compassionate and professional care that they gave to Gerard during his illness. Donations Information
