Giovanni (John) Ducibella, age 99 of Danbury, died on Thursday August 7, 2008 at the Bethel Health Care facility. He was the devoted Husband of the late Anna (Marek) Ducibella.
Giovanni was born in Bronx, New York on June 9, 1909, Son of the late Charles and Concetta (Cortemiglia) Ducibella.
Mr. Ducibella was a Barber and owned his own Business. He also was a barber at Fairfield Hills Hospital for 15 years prior to retiring. He was an avid Mets fan and enjoyed bowling. He also enjoyed donating to various Charities. He loved singing and held a great knowledge of old songs.
Giovanni is survived by, Son, and Daughter in-law Charles F. Ducibella and Phyllis Ducibella; of Danbury Son, John S. Ducibella of Danbury, Daughter, Elizabeth Elliott of New Braunfels, Tx. Brother, James P. Ducibella of Silver Springs, MD. Sister, Caroline T. Ducibella of Riverside, CT. Sister, Lucia Besozzi of Georgetown, Tx. Four grandchildren, Roberta Elliott of New Braunfels, Tx. Victor Ducibella of New Milford, CT. Dan Ducibella of South Salem, NY. Rosemary Ducibella of Danbury, CT. Two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Giovanni is predeceased by, his wife of over 60 years, Anna (Marek) Ducibella, 3 Brothers Joseph Ducibella, Salvatore Ducibella and the former Mayor of Danbury Charles A. Ducibella. Two sisters, Mary C. Ducibella, Antoinette Ducibella, and granddaughter Lynne Elliott. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 10:00am at St. Gregory the great church, Danbury. Interment in St. Peters Cemetery, Danbury will follow.
The Family will receive friends on Monday August 11, 2008 between the hours of 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. Danbury. Donations Information
