Elaine R. Eber, 94, of Crows Nest Lane, Danbury, devoted wife of Fred Eber, died at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care, on Saturday, May 13th. She was born in Chicago, IL., on October 18, 1911, daughter of the late Adolph and Laura (Brandt) Bergmann.
As a young woman she worked for Beatrice Foods in Chicago to help support her family after the death of her father. She later worked for Clarks of England in Norwalk and retired as a loan officer from Gateway Bank in Westport in 1985.
She was a loving wife and mother who will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Fred; her two sons, Wayne Eber of Danbury and Ronald F. Eber and his wife, Vicky, of Tahoe City, CA. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine Brown of MN; her nephew, Douglas Brown; her two nieces, Marlene Oliphant and Gail Hudson; as well as several nieces and nephews on the Eber side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30am. at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial in Middletown Veterans Cemetery will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home on Thursday, May 18th between the hours of 7 and 9pm. Donations Information
