Obituary of Robert C. Ely

Robert C. Ely Sr. June 23, 1923 - February 15, 2008 Robert C. Ely, Sr., age e84, of Concord, NC., devoted husband of Mary (Kulich) Ely, died on Friday, February 15th in North Carolina. He was born in Orange, NJ on June 23, 1923, son of the late Meredith and Hazel (Titchworth) Ely. Mr. Ely was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army, 64th Airdrone Squadron in Normandy, France and Central Europe. He was a Teamster for Local 191. Upon retirement, he worked for Unimation in Danbury for seven years. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Robert Ely, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Boonville, NY, and Jack W. Ely and his wife, Mary of Midland, NC; his four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday morning at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 9:00 and 10:00am.
