Lillian (Define) Emmons
August 12, 1915 - February 27, 2004
Lillian C. Define Emmons, died at her home on Huckleberry Hill Road in Brookfield on Feb. 27, 2004 at the age of 88. She was the widow of Almon Emmons. Mrs. Emmons was born in Bergenfield, NJ Aug. 12, 1915, daughter of the late William and Clara (Olsen) Mauritsen. She graduated from Danbury High School Class of 1933 and the Butler Business School. Mrs. Emmons was employed for 35 years as a Secretary for Amphenol in Danbury retiring in 1981.
In her younger years she was very active in the Congregational Church of Brookfield and was a Charter member and past president of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She also was a member of the National Secretary Association.
Mrs. Emmons is survived by her son, William Define and his wife Kathleen of Wappingers Falls, NY and her daughter, Thora Lathrop and her husband Richard with whom she made her home; her granddaughter and caregiver, Trena and her husband, Rick Schaedel; and her stepdaughter, Mary Ellen Fibbig of Florida. She is survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Define. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 7 p.m. Burial will take place in Central Cemetery, Brookfield in the Spring.
Friends may call at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
