Obituary of Jose M. Escobar

Jose M. Escobar November 16, 1933 - December 19, 2007 Jose M. Escobar, age 74, of Danbury, beloved husband of Maria Emma (Susatama) Escobar, died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, December 19th. He was born in La Calera, Colombia on November 16, 1933, son of the late Antonio and Rosa Maria (Venegas) Escobar. Mr. Escobar made his home in the United States for the past 39 years. He worked as a utility operator for Clairol Inc. for 18 years. In addition to his cherished wife of 53 years, Maria, he will be sadly missed by his children, Guillermo Escobar and his daughter, Christy of Danbury, Carmen Torres and her husband, Angel of Danbury, Manuel Alfredo Escobar and his wife, Debbie of Danbury, Stella Bracho and her husband, Rodolfo of Lake Mary, Fla; and Fanny Salguero and her husband, Michael of Lake Mary, Fla. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Rosemary Gittens, Christy Escobar, Abida T. Torres, Elijah Torres, Jonathan Torres, David Torres, Jessica Lynn Escobar, Michael Louis Escobar, and Jennifer Karina Escobar; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22nd at 12:00pm at Our Lady Guadalupe in Danbury. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
