Katherine Frances Gallo, age 90, of Danbury died on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Danbury Hospital.
She was born on May 29, 1916, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Karngle (Gillotte) Gallo. A lifelong Danbury resident she first worked at the Danbury shirt factory then as a hatter at Neuman and Endler. During the war she worked on the manufacturing line at the Barden Corp.; her last position was as an assembler at the Chayes Dental Lab. Katherine was very devoted to her family - loving known as "Big Sister" she helped raise her 11 brothers and sisters. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury.
Katherine is survived by 5 sisters: Concetta Chudy and her husband Henry, Mary Figueiredo and her husband Frank, Frances Lee all of Danbury, Rose Darling of Blairsville, GA and Christine Stewart of Valdosta, GA; 3 brothers: Roser Gallo of Walaka, Fl, Samuel J. Gallo of Danbury, and Patsy Gallo of Hornell, NY; a niece, Christine Gallo of Danbury; several nieces and nephews and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: Frank and Benjamin Gallo and a sister, Victoria Conley. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 12:00 PM. Cremation will be at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, on Sunday, February 18, 2007 from 3:30 until 5:30 PM. Donations Information
