Samuel J. Gallo, 83, of Main St., Danbury, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, October 25th. He was born in Danbury on October 26, 1923, son of the late Pasquale and Karngle (Gillotte) Gallo. He was a lifelong resident of Danbury.
Mr. Gallo was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He worked as a Drill Master for the Danbury Fire Department, retiring after 20 years. Previous to that he worked for Mutual Fuel Co as a driver.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and a past member of the Phoenix #8 Hose Co.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Wayne of Danbury and Francis of Southbury; his daughters, Patricia Murphy of Danbury and Sandra Gallo of Waterbury; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Pasquale Gallo of Hornell, NY; five sisters, Rose Darling of Blairsville, GA, Concetta Chudy, Mary Figueiredo and Frances Lee, all of Danbury, and Christine Stewart of Valdosta, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Benjamin and Roser Gallo; and his sisters, Katherine Gallo and Victoria Conley. Funeral Information
Graveside services will be announced at a later date. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
