Claire Geddes
January 27, 1919 - June 26, 2009
Claire Gertrude (Trisch) Geddes, age 90, of Brookfield, wife of the late Alfred Geddes, died peacefully at Bethel Health Care Center on Friday, June 26th. She was born in New Haven on January 27, 1919, daughter of the late Herman and Eva (Wagner) Trisch.
Mrs. Geddes worked for many years as the first Dean of Women Danbury Teacher's College, now Western Connecticut State University, where she met her husband, Alfred.
She was one of the founding members of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, and served on the church building committee. She was an active parishioner of St. Marguerite and was well loved by the church community.
In addition to her many friends, Claire will be sadly missed by her cousins, Robert Hadley and his wife, Ann, and Leigh Schwanfelder, all of Branford,CT and Niece, Marina Growe and her husband Al of St. Petersburge Fl. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30th at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations Information
Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church.
