Kathleen (Meehan) Gurry, age 69, of Pine Hill Road, New Fairfield, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 4th, after more than a 25 year battle with cancer. She was born in the Bronx, NY on July 31, 1940, daughter of the late James and Winifred (Shanley) Meehan.
Mrs. Gurry worked as an administrative assistant for Boehringer Ingelheim, retiring after seventeen years. She was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and international travel.
She will be sadly missed by her former husband, Michael Gurry of Sherman; her son, Michael Gurry of Scottsdale, AZ; her daughters, Kerry Marooney and her husband, Richard of Exton, PA, and Kristin Gouveia and her husband, Gary of New Fairfield; her grandchildren, Lauren, Catherine and Kevin Gurry, Cody, Joseph and James Marooney, Jake, Sydney and Carys Gouveia. She is also survived by her brothers, James Meehan, Jr. and his wife Vivien of Naples, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan Marooney. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8th at 10:00am at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
