Barbara M. (Schulz) Haitsch, age 74, of Windaway Rd. Bethel, beloved wife of 52 years to James Haitsch, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, September 13th. She was born in Danbury on September 5, 1935, daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Schweitzer) Schulz. She was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School and Danbury High School.
Mrs. Haitsch worked for Helicoil in Danbury for 18 years, and retired from the finance department for the City of Danbury in 2003, after 14 years of employment. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and volunteered on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Top Hat Volunteers of Danbury, and was a past troop leader for the Mariner Girl Scouts. She was a talented seamstress and in her younger years enjoyed competitive roller skate dancing.
Mrs. Haitsch was a woman of amazing strength with a heart of gold. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. There was nothing more important to her in this world than her family. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed but our hearts will never forget what a wonderful woman she was.
In addition to her husband, James, she will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Cathy Ann Hunt and her husband, Bill of Brookfield, and Cheryl Haitsch and her fiancé Ralph Barone of Schenectady, NY; her four grandchildren, Billy and Stephanie Hunt, Austin and Hunter Barone.
