Celestine M. Harrigan, 69, of Dorset Lane, Brookfield, died on Sunday, April 1st at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on September 13, 1937, daughter of the late Celestine and Stella (Harrington) Harrigan.
Dr. Harrigan was a Professor who taught nurse anesthetists at Detroit General Hospital and medical students at Wayne State University, and was past president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She was a devoted teacher, not only to her students but to her family as well. She was proud to have been given the opportunity to be part of the first medical group to lecture in China in 1973.
She was an avid football fan and had a great knowledge of the sport. She enjoyed reading, her pets, and spending time with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her two brothers, Patrick Harrigan and his wife, Karin of Hoffman Estate, IL, and Michael Harrigan and his wife, Donna of Reading, MA; her three sisters, Maureen Potts and her husband, Gordon of Ocala, FL, Dymphna Harrigan and her husband, David Cortez of Brookfield, Camillus Prosser and her husband, Jim of Fawn Grove, PA; as well as 16 nieces and nephews, and one great nephew.
