Roger M. Henley

Roger M. Henley, 89, beloved husband of Vivian Henley of Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly on February 17th at home. He was born on August 16, 1915, in Holden, MA, son of Joseph T.D. and Kate Libby Henley.
Roger came to Danbury in 1936 where he was employed at Bard-Parker, Co., now Becton-Dickinson, as an accountant for 35 years. In 1947, he married Vivian Moore. Following his work at Bard-Parker, he was appointed Comptroller to the Town of New Milford for 12 years.
Roger built his family home with his own hands. He was a 56 year member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield, where he served as Treasurer, Deacon and Chairman of the 200th Anniversary Committee. Service to the Town of Brookfield included a 12 year term on the Board of Finance and work with the Open Space Legacy. He was a 65 year member of Progressive Lodge, I.O.O.F. His hobbies included making home movies and stamp collecting.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian; his son, Bruce of Old Wethersfield; his daughter, Sara Cline of Framingham, MA; grandchildren, Daniel and Meghan Cline, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Georgia Hurley, and his brothers Paul, Martin, and twin, Ralph Henley. Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 1:00pm at the Congregational Church of Brookfield. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of choice.
