Elizabeth Hess
April 07, 1935 - January 27, 2008
Elizabeth Hess, age 72, of New Milford, devoted wife of Richard F. Hess, passed away January 27th after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born in Astoria, NY on April 7, 1935. She moved to Brookfield with her husband in 1967 before settling the last few years in New Milford.
Elizabeth dedicated her life to being a devoted wife and caring mom. It was her profession. She taught unconditional love and was an inspiration to her loving family. She also enjoyed the company of her friends, especially while playing bridge and gathering with the Red Hat Society. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her beloved husband of 50 years, Richard, she is survived by her nine children and twelve grandchildren: Carole Hess and her children, Teri and Gregg; Richard and Bernadette Hess and their children, Richard, Alana and Patrick; Mary Hess; Janette and Shawn McKeown; Barbara Hess; Jim and Linda Hess and their children, Matt and Alex; Patty and Tom Kelleher and their children, Megan, Alison, and Shannon; Steve and Julie Hess and their children, Amanda and Kaitlyn; and Ken Hess. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Theresa Hess. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, New Milford, on Thursday, January 31st at 11:00am. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown, will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Tuesday, January 29th and Wednesday, January 30th between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. Donations Information
