Joan Barbarie
March 30, 1931 - February 24, 2007
Joan (Delohery) Barbarie, age 75, wife of the late Frederick Barbarie died at the Danbury Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
A lifelong resident of Danbury, Joan was born March 30,1931 daughter of the late Andrew and Clara (Willis) Delohery, and graduated from Danbury High School. She was a legal secretary for the office of Rick Ventura in Danbury for 25 years.
Joan was an active member of the Congregational Church in New Fairfield, and a member of the Womens Service Club. Joan also was a past member of the Legal Secretary Association. Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook and maintain her home and gardens.
Joan is survived by her daughter Melissa Strempski and her husband Tom, and grandchildren Jessica, Olivia and Thomas, all of Sherman CT.; her brother William and his wife Nan Delohery of New Fairfield, and her companion George Birbarie of Danbury. Also several nieces,nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
Funeral Serives will be held on Thursday March 1,2007 at the Congregational Church of New Fairfield, 20 Gillotti Rd. New Fairfield, at 11am., with Rev. Patricia Nicholas officiating. Burial will be in Gerow Cemetery, New Fairfield. Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury CT, on Weds. Feb.28,2007, from 4 to 8 pm. Donations Information
