Steven E. Ingram, age 55, died suddenly at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, February 3, 2007. He was the devoted husband of Michele (Laramie) Ingram.
He was born in Peoria, Illinois on March 30, 1951 a son of Eugene and Lillian (Klemm) Ingram of St. Augustine, FL. He was raised in Illinois and received his BA in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed for over 16 years at Oppenheimer as Branch Manager and VP of investments in Southbury.
A dedicated volunteer, Steve began working with the Jaycees in Morton, IL and continued his volunteer work with the Danbury Jaycees. He held several positions of office including serving as President of the Danbury Jaycees from 1984-85. The Jaycees recognized Steve by bestowing upon him their highest honor, the Statesman Award and s also with their highest award-a senator.
Steve also contributed to the youth of the community serving as coach with Danbury Youth Soccer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a loving husband, father, and son and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife of 18 years and his parents, Steven is survived by 2 sons: Spencer Ingram and his wife, Heather of Johnston, RI, Scott Ingram and his wife Mary, of Danbury; a daughter: Stephanie Ingram also of Danbury; a brother: Scott Ingram of Wadsworth, IL; and a sister: Susan Anderson of Desoto, KS; 2 grandchildren: Brittany and Bryce Ingram. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 11:00 in the morning at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 6, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury Donations Information
