Edward W. Barnum

Edward W. Barnum, 84, of Polaras Drive, New Milford, devoted husband of Florence (Garavel) Barnum, died on Sunday, October 12th at his home. He was born in Bridgeport on October 20, 1918,son of the late Edwin and Bertha (Horton) Barnum.
Mr. Barnum was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy. He made his home in the community for 34 years. He worked as a security guard for Amphenol for ten years, and prior to that at Mekens Cleaners in Danbury.
Mr. Barnum enjoyed spending time with his cherished wife of 63 years, and his seven children. He loved working in his yard and the outdoors.
Besides his wife, he will be sadly missed by two sons, Richard E. Barnum and his wife, Sarah of Augusta, Maine, John D. Barnum and his wife, Wendy, of Newtown; five daughters, Joan M. Lamporte of Watertown, Judith A. Warwick of Marlbor, NY, Nancy L. Madore and her husband, Robert, of Danbury, Linda J. Zank and her husband, Richard of New Fairfield, and Carol S. Repp and her husband, Michael, of Olathe, Kansas. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Barnum and his wife, Helen, of Fairfield.
