Rowland James
July 23, 1925 - November 29, 2006
Rowland James passed away peacefully at his home in Brookfield on Wednesday, November 29th. He was born in Mount Vernon, NY on July 23, 1925, the son of the late Norton and Etta James.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe for the United States Army. After graduation from Brooklyn Poly Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering, he was employed by Pepsi Cola Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1987.
His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, traveling, puzzles and the computer.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara of Brookfield, his daughter Kathryn of New Milford, son Robert of Catawba, SC, son Thomas of New Milford, and son Richard of Woodinville, WA, his five grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Denise, Jennifer and Michael; and his brother, Norton of Salt Lake City, UT and sister, Carol Scranton of Orange. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at 6:00pm, at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road. Interment Long Island National Cemetery, will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday between the hours of 5:00 and 6:00pm. Donations Information
