Fred Kaeser

Fred Kaeser, 84, formerly of Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, died on Sunday, July 18th, in the presence of his devoted and loving wife, Evelyn (Miller) Kaeser at Harborside Glen Hill where they resided. He was born in Bridgeport on May 9, 1920, son of the late Fritz and Mabel (Kanfield) Kaeser. He and Evelyn were married in 1946 at St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury and just celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary on July 13th.
Mr. Kaeser was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in a tank division in both Europe and Africa. He retired from Berol, formerly Eagle Pencil, after thirty-five years of employment as a furnace operator. He was a lifetime member of the Phoenix Hose Company in Danbury.
In addition to his family he loved his dogs, all wildlife, especially birds, and tending his vegetable garden. He enjoyed bowling, played softball with the Danbury Industrial Softball League for many years, and coached girl's softball. He was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball Fan.
In his later years he was active in the Brookfield Senior Center and especially enjoyed taking bus trips with his wife.
Besides his wife, he will be sadly missed by three daughters, Karen Provino and her husband, Carl of Danbury, Waynne Tomascak and her husband, Cyril of New Milford, and Geraldine Ferris and her husband, Frank of Brookfield; his loving grandchildren, Scott Provino and his wife, Lisa, Jaime and Christian Ferris. He is also survived by his sister, Mae Hanlon of Southbury, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, July 21st at 1:30pm with the Rev. George Crocker officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between 12:30 and 1:30pm on Wednesday at Cornell Memorial Home. Donations Information
