Obituary of Ryszard “Richard” Stepniak
Ryszard “Richard” Stepniak, age 79 of Danbury died Friday morning at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Wieslawa (Czajkowska)Stepniak.
Ryszard was born January 28, 1938 in Stara-Wies, Poland, the son of the late Stanislaw and Maria Stepniak. He emigrated to the United States in 1988, and has since resided in Danbury. He was employed as a machinist in Poland, and while living in Danbury was employed as a groundskeeper at Silver Springs Country Club in Ridgefield for 10 years. He enjoyed gardening and a good cup of coffee in his spare time, and being at home in the company of his family and his dog Psotka.
Ryszard is survived by his son Waldemar Stepniak of Shelton, and Katarzyna Heronimek and her husband Tadusz of Brookfield, and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday April 12th in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Tuesday April 11th from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
