I would like to express my sincerest condolences for the loss of such a great man. Growing up my parents were in prison and Mr. Krebs was my teacher in 5th and 6th grade. He was like a father I never had. He would stay after school and Mr. Krebs taught me how to play chess. From elementary school on through high school I was the Chess champion of every school I attended. Mr. Krebs got me involved in little league and I played baseball under his coaching and was on his championship little league team Deeps Market with his son Gary who caught the final out on a line drive shot to win that game! I also played Babe Ruth league with Mr. Krebs as my coach. Mr. Krebs was a great man! After leaving Morris St School I never ever forgot Mr. Krebs and the impact he had on my life! I loved him like a father and his memory will live in my heart forever. Blessings to his family!

I was talking recently about my best and most favorite teachers ever and Mr. Krebs’ name was at the top of the list. I had him in 5th grade and was a new student who transferred in. I looked him up only to find his obituary. I’m sorry I took so long to reach out to him to tell him what a positive impact he had on my life. My condolences to his entire family.

I am very sorry for your loss. It is not an easy time to go through. Talking about it with someone always helps, and their is no one better than God, he even gives us in the Bible Hope in John 5:28, 29 where he promises to bring back to life our loved ones. And in Revelation 21:4 he promises us a better future where we won't suffer no more. To know more visit jw.org

It is with sadness that I learned of his death. I had him in 5th grade at Morris Street and we have kept in touch these past 30 some odd years. I affectionately called him dad and exchanged Christmas cards with him every year. He was truly one of the best human beings that walked the face of this earth. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will miss hearing from him and all his cards that started with
'kid' and signed 'dad'.

To John's family: I am so sorry for your loss. I taught math with John at Broadview. He had a great sense of humor but was very serious about giving an excellent education to his students. He really cared about his students and put a great deal of effort into their successes. I never knew him to be anything but kind and I had a great deal of respect for him. He certainly loved his family.

I attended DHS, graduating in 1959. Your dad went to Abbott Tech following High School to learn to be an auto mechanic as did I. That's where I met him. I don't remember if he completed the curriculum. He was a big, friendly guy and he, dennis clark (another PG) and I used to sit in a friends 1950 mercury having a smoke between classes talking about girlfriends & such--he had a couple of them. I saw him at the DHS 50th reunion. We had a great time reminiscing about Abbott Tech. Sooo sorry to hear he passed.

I consider myself lucky to have been a student of John Krebs in 1971 when I was 11 years old. He was, and will always be my favorite teacher. Even at that age I could tell that he loved his work and cared for all of us. He was a big man with a big heart and he touched the lives of so many, and will never be forgotten.
Thank you Mr. Krebs!
Rest in eternal peace.
My condolences to the entire family.
