Dearest Dad,
I am grateful that you are in a better, more peaceful place. Life on this earth is challenging to say the least. The smarter one is, the more difficult it is to fit in. While you and I disagreed on how best to have an earthly relationship, I know that as you join the angels in heaven, we will have a better chance of loving one another in a way that we both understand. I know someday we will have a chance to forgive and reunite in the bond of father and daughter as well as in the bond of oneness of spirit and enlightenment. I have missed and will continue to miss your intellect. I am sorry for any grief I heaped upon you during your life, but you must know that my weakness for desperately wanting your love, affection and attention was the motivation for the harshness. Regardless of what anyone thinks, God (and you now) know the truth of my heart. Watch over us (your family) and guide us in love. Send us signs to let us know you are there. Lucky for you that you are an angel that is feeling joy, love, and light.
With love,
Butter

For more years than I can count I have maintained a special place in my heart for Leon and his primary family. Dearest Leon, I remember so well your old blue car that whistled like a boiling tea kettle when it's speed exceeded 5 mph, preventing you from sneaking into the neighborhood without detection; the day you hog tied me to the porch posts with the old parachute you kept in the trunk of that old car and then went for ice cream, leaving me behind. I still carry the nickname you gave me that has stuck more than fifty years - Dumb Detta. I remember the tenderness with which you addressed your first born daughter, Chris with your favorite nickname for her - Butter, and much you loved watching Chris and Vickie play. I want you to know how happy I am to think of the joyous reunion you must be having on the other side with Oscar, Jo, Unie, and others of your loved ones who have gone before. I will always remember you and look forward to that day when i might see you on the other side all handsome and buff as before and surrounded by theTryon clan. Until then, know that I love you and to your family left behind I pray for peace in knowing you are now healthy and happy once again. Love, Dumb Detta
