Obituary of Ann Cappellano
Ann O. (Stapf) Cappellano, 100, formerly of Danbury, wife of the late Leon John Cappellano, died peacefully on October 23rd in Conway, South Carolina. She was born in Plainfield, NJ on July 31, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Otilla (Geis) Stapf.
Mrs. Cappellano worked as an assembler for Consolidated Controls for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed driving the Sweet Heart Bus in Danbury and volunteering for the American Cancer Society.
During high school she was a star basketball player and her love of the sport continued as a devoted fan of UConn Women’s Basketball. She was also a lifelong Yankee fan.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her three children, John Cappellano (Barbara), Lucy Davis (Norm), and Gloria Peck; her grandchildren, Terrie, Richard, Frank, Brian and Alicia; and many beloved great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Leon, she was predeceased by her grandson, Gregory Peck; her brothers, Edward, Frank, William and Peter Stapf; and her sister, Victoria Dinto.
Funeral Services will be held privately with family and friends
