Obituary of Donald E. Lampe
Donald E. Lampe, 69, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Joanne (O'Connor) Lampe, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, November 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Harold and Evelyn (Krakehl) Lampe, he was born in New Rochelle, NY on August 14, 1949.
In addition to his cherished wife of 40 years, Joanne, he will be sadly missed by his three children, Kyle of Brookfield, Jeffrey and his wife Susie of Trumbull, and Amy Sullivan and her husband Greg of Brighton, MA. He was a beloved grandfather to grandson Jack Sullivan and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his second grandchild, Baby Boy Lampe. He is also survived by his siblings, Valerie McFarlane and her husband Paul of Grand Marais, MN, Gregory and his wife Jody of Madison, WI, and Jerry of New Rochelle, NY. He will also be missed by his several nieces and nephews.
A devoted father, he enjoyed supporting all of his children's activities, including coaching their many childhood sports teams. His happiest times were spent out in the sun, whether he was going to the area beaches with his family or golfing with his wife.
Donald worked as a route salesman for Industrial Overall for over 30 years. During his retirement, he could be found taking the dog for a walk around the neighborhood or avidly watching the Golf Channel and the Price is Right. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield since moving with his family from New Rochelle in 1989.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 9th at 1:30 pm, at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Burial of cremated remains will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, Nov. 8th between the hours of 5:00 - 8:00pm.
