Obituary of Virginia Klingner
Danbury – Virginia Mary (Carlone) Klingner, age 78, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Bethel Health Care Center.
Virginia was born March 10, 1940 in Brewster, New York, daughter of the late Donato and Maria (Carpinella) Carlone. She was retired after working various jobs throughout her life time including a short order cook at Westconn and Our Place Café. She also worked as a sales associate at Steinbachs Department Store providing assistance with woman’s fashion, display arrangements and fitting room.
She enjoyed reading the bible regularly and was a communicant of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Danbury. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and volunteering at the Salvation Army.
Virginia was a cancer survivor of 29 years and was a member of the New Voices Club. She embarked on a new journey in her life with a new style of communicating and made wonderful new friends in the process. Virginia was caring, she loved life and being with her family and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her children: A. Raymond Klingner of Danbury, and Sue Ann Sibbitt and her husband Ed of Bridgewater, her two sisters: Rose McQuade and Maffalda Clair, 2 grandchildren Courtney and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Joe Carlone, Patrick Carlone, Josephine Shisler and Anna “Biddy” Silleck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in New Milford. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
