Obituary of Anna W Donzella
Danbury- Anna W.[Wilson] Donzella,age 94 of Danbury,passed away on WednesdayNovember 14,2018 at Bethel Health Care Center.She was the widow of Salvatore A.Donzella. Ann was born in Ossining N.Y. on November 6,1924 daughter of the late Victor and Ursula [Kearns] Wilson.In 1944 she married Salvatore [Sam] Donzella,the oldest son of a wonderful Italian family in North Tarrytown N.Y.. She worked in Eastern Aircraft in Tarrytown until the end of the war. In 1955 they moved to Danbury and raised their 3 children.She also went to work for the Barden Corp.and Little Deer Nursery School which was part of the First Assembly of God church of which she was a member. Ann was an avid reader, especially loving the Bible.She was a wonderful cook and hostess.She and Sam prepared many meals at their home for family and friends.She truly had the gift if hospitality. After Sams retirement they moved to Largo,Florida where she resided for 25 years.In 2008 she moved back to Danbury to enjoy the last 10 years of her life with her family.She cherished these last years,especially with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.Ann was a strong and faithful servant of the Lord.Her life reflected the love and grace of God to all whom she knew and met.She was predeceased by her loving husband Sam of 40years, one brother and two sisters. Ann is survived by her children ,Paul Donzella and his wife Bonnie of Kent,Brian Donzella of Gilbert,Ar.,and Diane Ferraro and her husband John of Bethel,her sister Eleanor Carney of Ossining N.Y.,9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and several neices and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 19.2018 at 11:30a.m. at the First Assembly of God in Brookfield,Ct.Ann's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday November 19,2018 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown,NY. at the convenience of the family.The Cornell Memorial Home,247 White Street,Danbury is in charge of arrangements.Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International,P.O.
