Obituary of Esther B. McCoy
Esther B. McCoy passed away on Monday December 3, 2018 peacefully at Waterbury Hospital. Esther was born December 1, 1931 in Danbury, CT, a daughter of the late James and Esther (Carlson) Bailey.
Esther graduated from Danbury High School and became very involved with the Mental Health Association in Danbury. After moving to Southbury, she became extremely involved in and associated with Southbury Training School for many years.
Esther, along with her late husband, Leo, Sr., was a long time owner and operator of the Real McCoy's Homemade Texas Chili Hotdogs Concession at Danbury Fair and later at The Elephant Trunk in New Milford.
Esther was a devoted wife, mother and friend to all. In addition to her husband Leo, Esther was predeceased by their sons Leo, Jr. and William McCoy. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury on Friday December 7, 2018 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Interment will be in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 11:00am. Those wishing to follow in procession are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Esther's honor to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10021.
