Obituary of John S. Mancini
John S. Mancini, age 58 of Sleepy Hollow, NY, passed quietly with his family at his side at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital on January 4, 2019.
John was born in Danbury on April 2, 1960. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from DHS in 1978. After completing BFA undergraduate work at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Kansas City Art Institute, John moved on to the Art Institute of Chicago where he earned an MFA in Sculpture and Woodworking. John remained at the Art Institute and for many years was a Conservation Specialist. Making the leap from art to technology, John worked for Apple for several years as a Mac Specialist and a Sales/Merchandising Manager. More recently, John was a Service Advisor and Technical Advisor at the Microsoft Store in White Plains, NY.
John was predeceased by his parents, Steve and June Mancini, and by his sister Laura Mancini, all of Danbury. He is survived by daughters Sophie and Hannah of Sleepy Hollow, a brother and sister-in-law, Gary Mancini and Margot Knorr Mancini of Southport, NC, a nephew Ryan Mancini, a niece Caitlin (Mancini) Wood, and a loving Basset Hound, Molly.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held on January 26 at 2:00 pm at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. The family welcomes your attendance and active participation. There will be no calling hours.
