A Tribute to Our Brother
As we began to reach out for the right words to express our thoughts about our brother, we remembered the many roles that he played throughout his life.
He was a loving husband to Joyce, a father to Tony, Frankie, Liz and Tara. He was a brother to Flo, Val, Jim, Eileen, John and Denise. He was a grandfather, a great-grandfather, an uncle, a cousin and a friend.
He was an ordinary person yet a remarkable one as well. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people in very positive ways. Our brother had the simple gift of being himself. He never put on airs, he was just who he was. He was at ease and he put the people that he met at ease.
By the world’s usual standards, our brother was not a great man. He was never famous or rich; never led troops into battle; founded no great charities; never found the cure for any disease. So, by the usual standards, he wasn’t a great man.
He was, however, what we find even more important – he was a Good Man.
This is an excerpt from a poem by an anonymous author:
Not - How did he die? But - How did he live?
Not - What did he gain? But - What did he give?
These are the things that measure the worth
of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say ..
but how many were sorry when he passed away.
These are the things that measure the worth
of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Great men change the whole world. True, but they do it from a distance. However, a Good Man walks among us. He is honest, dependable, sincere and trustworthy. He is loyal, compassionate and loving. We saw Frank in that role every day. And it isn’t until a time like this that we realize what he has given us.
We all worked at various times with our father, Frank more so than the rest us, and our father taught us from an early age that to “feel a good day’s accomplishment you had to do a hard day’s work”. Frank lived his life that way.
Frank took all the roles in his life to heart. He strove to honor, support, guide and most importantly, protect his family. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends - even during those inevitable tough times that life has a way of throwing at you. He was always the life of a party and had so many funny stories about his life growing up and his many life experiences.
He could be counted on and always be depended on. Whether you needed simple advice about a household problem, the loan of a tool or ladder, a few hours of help to complete a project, or just somebody with which to pass the time, he was your man; ready, willing, able and good fun.
He shared his life expertise with anyone who asked. Our brother never stopped working. He never sat back and became complacent. He led by example and mentored his own children in a way that anyone of them can say that he was an inspiration in their lives.
He was a businessman who saw opportunity and made the most of it. He had a variety of ideas and these ideas prompted him to act. He followed his instincts and he succeeded at most things he tried. He was a soldier, an insurance salesman, an electrician, a contractor, a sandwich shop and pizza parlor owner and an innovator.
Some years ago he saw a need to remediate multiple issues with crawl spaces and developed a product to deal with these. This created a business opportunity and he seized upon it. He devoted all of his time and effort to it and as a result created a business that supported him and other members of his family.
He had a wonderful life -- full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that made it worth living. We are sad to see him leave, but he leaves with the knowledge that he lived the life that he intended.
He will be remembered through the many people still left behind whose lives he touched so positively.
We will miss him, but we will always remember him with respect and love.
He was a Good Man.

Frank was a very talented man, a loving husband and great father. His innovation to develop Neutocrete is really amazing. All that knew him appreciated his sense of humor, genuine interest, and calm demeanor. He will be greatly missed not only by his family, but also our entire community.
