Your father, father-in-law and grandpa was a very special person in our lives for many years. I think I was a teenager when I first met him, so our friendship goes back "a long way". I enjoyed working with him at McKenzie Engineering and Bill and I enjoyed our visits and lunches with Rose Bud and Ed in later years.
I am sorry we could not come to his service. We were away on a family camping trip.
Our sympathy and condolences to all of you. You are a special family.
Love and blessings,
Evie

I wanted to add this so people can take comfort from it I hope. In his last week on earth he told me on 2 different days that Rosemarie had visited him in his room. Having done Hospice several times including both of my parents, I knew she came to assist him in his transition. I only said she missed him and they would be together again! God bless this wonderful couple!

It was an honor and a privelege to have been the CNA to Ed and previously to his Rose Bud! I was with Ed for over 8 years and he shared wonderful memories of his days and adventures in the Navy. He had great childhood memories also. Ed loved his University of Michigan and I will continue to watch their football games. He was a gentleman and made many friends at Bethel Healthcare. Even other peoples visitors enjoyed his company. I read about WW2 every day and he loved having all that knowledge that I was just learning. I am happy he is at peace and with his wife, Rosemarie and son Jimmy. I salute you Commander! You will be missed but not forgotten. Go Blue! Prayers to all of your family for their loss.
