Obituary of Peter Lacey
James “Peter” Lacey, 82, of Kent, formerly of Danbury, beloved husband of Ann (Moissonnier) Lacey, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, September 21st. He was born in Everett, MA on June 5, 1937, son of the late Charles and Eva (Benoit) Lacey. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Kent.
Pete was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving during peacetime. He worked for many years as a general contractor.
Peter worked in the printing industry at Curtis Box and then as a general contractor running Lacey Painting and Remodeling. Peter was a basketball coach at Saint Gregory’s in Danbury, a Little League coach, a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) coach for many years as well as a program director. Peters love for his family and his involvement in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities were his true passion. In his later years, he became a Eucharistic Minister along with his wife Ann at Sacred Heart Church in Kent. He was also very involved in the Friends in Service Helping (FISH) program in Kent.
In addition to his cherished wife of nearly 56 years, Ann, he will be sadly missed by his five children, Patrick and his wife, Donna, Jennifer Kennedy and her husband, Dan, Thomas and his wife, Alyssa, Kathleen Lacey, and Melissa Healy and her husband, Jeff; and his ten grandchildren Ryan and Meghan Lacey, Ali, Maggie, and Sara Kennedy, Liam, Callie, Dalton, and Landon Lacey, and Eva Healy. He is also survived by his brothers, Ed and his wife, Rosita, George and his wife, Eleanor, and Larry; his sisters, Jane Damici and her husband, Mondo, Mary Kaempfer and her husband, Bob, and Elaine Lashari and her husband, Michael; his brother-in-law, Paul Aniskovich; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Maurice; and sisters, Patricia and Carol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 26th2019 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Kent. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
