Obituary of David Walter Kearns
David Walter Kearns of New Fairfield, age 80 passed away quietly at the Glen Hill Center in Danbury on Tuesday October 1, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judith M. (Conant) Kearns. Mr. Kearns was born on December 28, 1938 in Hartford to the late Walter and Bertice Kearns.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a loyal friend. He was the President and co-owner of Universal Software, Inc. in Brookfield. David enjoyed playing raquet ball with his friends. He was a lifelong sports fan coaching Little League and Babe Ruth, an avid Yankee's fan and loved the UCONN Lady Huskies. David also enjoyed packing up the kids and driving to Disney World. Later, he enjoyed traveling with Judy and close friends.
In addition to his wife, Judy, David will be sadly missed by his sons: Daniel Kearns of New Fairfield, Patrick and his wife Lori of New York, Timothy and his wife Susan of Marlborough and James and his wife Colette of New Jersey; his grandchildren: Joseph, Tara, David, Zachary, Adeline, Shaiera, and his great-grandson, Charlie. David was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Kearns.
Visitation will be held on Saturday October 19, 2019 from 11:00am - 12:30pm with a Memorial Service to follow. Services will take place at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.
