Obituary of David Robert Darling

David R. Darling, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Celestial (Ridgway) Darling, died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, October 2nd.  He was born in Norwich, VT on December 3, 1943, son of the late Donald and Nettie (Humphries) Darling.  He was a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor Degree. 

David was a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving in active duty from 1965-1968, and continued his service in the Army Reserves from 1968-1978. 

He retired from IBM as a program manager after 33 years of employment. 

In addition to his cherished wife of nearly 52 years, Celestial, he will be sadly missed by his three children, Melanie Sholl and her husband, Robert, Daniel Darling, and Julie Edwards; his and his two grandchildren, Katherine and Robert Sholl.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Jean Arthur and Ruth Darling.
