Obituary of Aja Nachama Mantel

Aja Nachama Mantel, age 34, of Trumbull, died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Aja was born July 30, 1985 in Stamford, Connecticut to her mother Donna (Osuch) and late father, Jason Mantel. She worked as a farm hand at a Horse Farm in Southbury, Connecticut. She was loved by everyone whose lives she touched. She had a heart of gold with a soft spot for animals and especially ferrets. At one time she had as many as 15 pet ferrets! She was incredibly self-sacrificing, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. She was a make-up enthusiast with a passion for photography. Her favorite colors were pink and purple. She loves her family, especially her nieces. In addition to her mother, Donna, Aja is survived by her sister Diana Sharkey and her husband Jason; her brother Justin Mantel; her cousin and best friend Sarah Alford and her husband Dave; her nieces Sadi and Courtney Sharkey; her nephew Hunter Sharkey; her great niece Annabella Sharkey; her uncles Howard Mantel and Thor Osuch; her aunt Robin Osuch; her cousins Terri Fabricatore and Jack Mantel; as well as many other cousins. Aja’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street Danbury on Tuesday February 4, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM.
