Lauren’s was a great, caring and involved teacher. She always tried to learn as much as she could. She never gave up especially when trying new technology. Every. Time I saw her, she would say”Mrs.Hall, I’m doing better with the laptop technology”.Rest In Peace and you will be miss by your family and friends. Laurie Hall,Media Para

I always remembered Mrs. McCarthy to be one of the most loving people in AIS. She will forever be loved and missed. The last time I saw Mrs.McCarthy I was at bridges of peace and hope club and mrs. McClune and mrs. Moore had announced that there would be a surprise for us today and Mrs. McCarthy came into the room and immediately the entire room filled with smiles. She was one of the best and loving teachers I've ever met. I will miss her every day.
Sincerely, Julia Maloney

Bill,
Robin and I were heartbroken to hear of Laurena’s passing. I’m sure you were a constant source of strength and compassion during her struggles and will continue to provide the same support for your family during this difficult time. In return, your family will be your support…that’s what family does.

To Laurena's Family & Friends,
I am shocked after reading this sad news. I'd become acquainted with Laurena while employed with the Facilities Department of the New Milford Board of Education. I worked with her securing space for the monumental Super Science program she ran at NMHS for many years. But I had a feeling in my gut when, one year, she called to say goodbye, letting me know that her business had been sold. Something didn't seem right. The program was her baby. But, I thought, maybe she was just done, handing over the reins to someone else. And maybe that was all it really was. But maybe it was more.
My deepest condolences to you all. While I didn't know her well, she was a sweet, generous and kind lady, gone too soon.
Sincerely,
Dennie DeBellis

My daughter had Rena as a 5th grade teacher at AIS. Laurena was such an inspiring teacher. So much so that my daughter got interested in science and robotics, and is going to do engineering in college this fall. We had also become friends and hers in a friendship I will always treasure and remember. Even after my daughter left AIS, I used to go there regularly and help out and our friendship grew. Another former AIS mom and I had visited with Laurena in December, and she was her usual fun self making jokes and showing us around the place. Rest in Peace my friend...
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill,Maxwell, Brandon, Justin and Family.

Laurena our friendship is one I will always treasure. One that began simply as your "Room Mother" when you were my eldest sons teacher that quickly developed into a long-lasting friendship. We quickly found that we had so much in common from Greenwich - Todd's Point, Island Beach, our love of St Moritz Bakery... to name just a few. Over the years we shared so much, from raising our children, decorating cakes together, infertility, movies, shopping, babysitting each other's children, wine tasting parties, supporting one another through our illnesses, all that came with lots of laughter and a few tears. You were such a blessing to me, and I will forever be grateful for your friendship. Rest in peace my sweet friend.
To Bill, Justin, Brandon, Max and the entire Flynn and McCarthy families, thank you for sharing Laurena with us. She has left her print on the hearts of so many of us. May you find comfort in all of the beautiful memories you have of her, and of the love you share for her. God Bless you all. With my deepest sympathy. Wendy Michalek.
