Obituary of Barbara Louise Durkin

Barbara L. Durkin, age 86, of Bethel, CT passed away on July 20, 2020. Barbara was born in Bethel to George Silvia and Mary Steck Silvia on November 3, 1933. She was a lifetime resident of Bethel and graduated from Bethel High School in  1951. She worked for many years at Hologic in Danbury and retired in 2003, at the age of 70. 

Barbara lost her son, Richard Durkin, on June 7, 2020. She is survived by her son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Marianne, and grandchildren Max, Michael, and Hope of Danbury, CT. She is also survived by her daughter, Cindy Sfaelos, and son-in-law, Danny, and grandchildren, Andrew and Ashley, also of Danbury. Barabara is also survived by her twin sister, Judith Powell of Vero Beach, Florida and her niece Jennifer House and nephew Dean Martin.

Barbara was cremated and will be buried with her son Richard in Center Cemetery on South Street, Bethel, (Located just past Agway) on August 15, 2020 at 12:00. There will be a graveside service.
