Obituary of Eugene Daniel Gasiewski
Eugene D. Gasiewski, 88, of Brookfield, husband of the late Mary J. Gasiewski, died Monday; August 24, 2020, unexpectedly during a short stay at Glen Hill. Born in Southington, November 21, 1931, son of the late Paul and Sophie Gawitt-Gasiewski. He was a resident for many years of Stamford before moving to Norwalk and finally retiring in Brookfield. He attended Holy Name School in Stamford followed by Stamford High School before entering the Army, where he served as staff Sergeant for 7 years partly during the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane Heineken of Brookfield (Eric Heineken), and Sharon Hilson of Tuscon (predeceased by David Hilson); two grandchildren (the love of Eugene’s life) Olivia Mali Heineken and Ava Kaili Heineken; and his beloved puppy dog, Paddington; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Eugene is predeceased by brothers, Bruce Gunn and Walter Gasiewski; and sisters, Eleanor Setti and Bertha Reynaud.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 1st at 11 am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Calling hours are at church, one hour before, beginning at 10 am.
