Sorry to hear about your father passing. I am so grateful I had the pleasure of working fwith him the summer of 1976 building a house in Brookfield. He did EVERYTHING himself, cleared the lot with a chainsaw, masonry work on the piers and to correct an error in the foundation, framing (he crowned every joist), sheething (nail aprons and hammer holsters the daiy uniform, no pneumatic nailers back then), painting the soffit and fascia boards inside and out BEFORE we put them up, roofing, hardwood floors with cut nails hand countersunk into each joist, even sheetrocking he did himself. I never worked so hard, learned so much, and had so much fun! He was a fine craftsman with a work ethic like few I have ever known. I enjoyed visiting him last summer when we reminisced about that summer, which was so special for me. He has left a fine legacy in his children, grandchildren, and the homes and projects that were his passion.
