Because Sue and I were college roommates, I had the pleasure of getting to know Me. and Mrs. Schettino. I am very saddened to learn of Mr. Schettino's passing. He was a consummate gentleman, and someone who always made me feel welcomed in his presence. Not many people always take the time to ask about another's life, but he always did, even at a brief stop at Burger King when Sue would visit. Mr. Schettino to me was a quintessential American hero who honored his family, his country by his dedication to duty well done. May he rest in peace with his beloved wife.
