Obituary of Erasmus Edgar Garcia
Pembroke Pines, Florida – Mr. Erasmus Garcia, age 70, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of Danbury, died October 8, 2020 at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines.
Mr. Garcia was born January 24, 1950 in Belize City, Belize, son of the late Edgar and Clotilda (Flowers) Garcia. He attended trade school in Belize and worked as a carpenter. Erasmus enjoyed martial arts, exercising and bodybuilding and once won "Most Muscular" in Belize. He was retired after working as a manager at Topstone Industries for many years and later as a technician at ITW Trident in Brookfield. He was a communicant of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Danbury and a resident of the area until he moved to Miami, Florida in 2017 to enjoy retirement. Erasmus enjoyed trading stocks, attending parties with his daughters, being a handyman, and talking to everyone.
His perspective on the world was always special and we wish we had more years to spend with him. He was a big dreamer, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Garcia is survived by his daughters: Dr. Arlene Garcia of Danbury, Charess Garcia of Miami, FL and Shomara Garcia of Miami, FL, mother of his children, Gloria Garcia, and his granddaughter: Aria Garcia, his siblings: Eric Garcia, Earl Garcia, Pearl Spain, Rita Swift, Leore Garcia and Joyce Chavarria and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Rosita Garcia.
Mr. Garcia’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street Danbury on Tuesday October 27, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Current COVID 19 regulations will be strictly enforced. All attendees are asked to please wear a mask. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury.
