Obituary of Ronald Mota

Ronald Mota of Danbury died peacefully at the Newtown Rehabilitation and Health Care Center on Thursday, December 17, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  He was the loving husband of 29 years to Patricia Ledan Mota.

Ron was born in Danbury, December 29, 1957 to the late Reinaldo “Ray” Mota and Eliza Neves Mota. He graduated from Danbury High School and Northeastern University with high honors.  He lived in Boston for a period of time after graduating from Northeastern.  He then returned to his hometown of Danbury, where he lived most of his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Jonathon Mota and his partner Khemberly Alvarado and several great friends and cousins that helped him though his struggle with Alzheimer’s.  He is survived by sisters Elisa Lopes of Danbury, Lynda Mota of Brooklyn, NY., and brother Daniel Mota of Milford.  Along with numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Ron worked for Vision Appraisal as a Project Manager for several years, doing municipal revaluation for Towns in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island before retiring due to his illness.

Ron was a loving caring person, who always had a smile on his face, he was always there to help, anyone who needed help.  Ron enjoyed the outdoors, he especially loved boating on Candlewood Lake, canoeing and camping with his cousins, Glenn and Jeff, and the boys in the Adirondacks and hanging out with Victor and Nabeel.  He loved spending time on Cape Cod with Richie and Beth.  He loved his music and would sing along with any song that was playing.  Ron was a long-time member of the Danbury Yacht Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 21st at St. Gregory the Great Church, Great Plain Rd, Danbury at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.

Family and Friends may visit on Thursday, May 20th at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury between the hours of 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
