Obituary of Christopher Phillips

Dr. Christopher O’Brian Phillips, age 58 of New Haven, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 24, 2021.  Chris was born on May 30, 1962 in Trinidad and Tobago to his late mother, Sylvia Phillips.  

Chris was dedicated to his profession and authored several medical publications, including one still widely used as a teaching tool today.  He deeply cared for his patients at the Fair Haven Community Health Center ensuring they received the care they deserved and teaching residents  on their journey to becoming doctors.  

Chris did not not have an easy life but always tried to be joyful.  Although Chris was often (hours) late, he was worth the wait.   Chris was quite mischievous, and had an infectious laugh.  He loved listening to opera , debating politics and eating dessert.  Chris will be lovingly remembered by his “adopted families”: the Filos Family, Bia Family and Gauvey/Kern Family.  All services are private and at the convenience of the family.
